My first idea was to make something very simple and clean, yet expressive. The graphic used in this design was the first thing I came up with - originally I planned to use it only as a secondary design element, but later I thought it could work on its own already. Created in vector.
Concept: This graphic was inspired by the winged coat of arms badges used by different Air Force units all around the World. The wings not only look nice, but express a lot: First of all, the wings symbolize Freedom - the freedom of mind - the freedom to Create - the freedom to be... deviant. Wings can also represent majesty, power and greatness. And since pilots were always considered to be elite fighters, this analogues with the fact, that deviantART is the greatest and strongest of all art communities, and is indeed home to many elite artists.
There are two versions: Type A has the logo on the left side of the chest, similar to how badges are placed on uniforms. On Type B, it is much stronger and eye catching, expressing deviant pride, with a smaller version of the graphic placed on the left shoulder.
Optionally, both Type A and B can have the deviantART web URL placed on the top area of the back, with a small and simple font, maybe with a small plain dA logo above it. However this is such a simple thing that I didn't consider it mandatory to be included on the template.
Colors: The graphic uses a single color which makes it clean, and also easy to print. For each base color that are found on the provided templates, I have chosen a unique graphic color: - The lime color used on black is the color from the dA official logo, a vibrant color to catch the eye - The dark greenish gray used on light gray shirt is the second color of the dA official logo, which creates a smooth contrast with the base color - The light blue is easy on the eye and harmonizes with the navy blue background - The black on red symbolizes the revolution of art - The dark gray on white stands for simplicity However, any other color combinations are possible.
I might have commented on your entry that had the design on the shirt, but this really drives the point home that this design works very well in a variety of color schemes! Please offer feedback on my design – and vote if you like it! - at [link] - thanks!
And sorry for the late answer, I was away from dA.
You have my vote! Take look at my t-shirt and if you like it vote.
